Cleantec Answers Customers’ Frequently Asked Questions Regarding COVID-19
June 22, 2020As a professional commercial cleaning business, we have received an influx of questions from customers regarding cleaning procedures in the wake of COVID-19, especially now as more businesses begin reopening. In an effort to alleviate concerns, we decided to put together a frequently asked questions post to allow for easy reference:
What are Cleantec’s policies and procedures post COVID?
Cleantec has adapted our policies to react to COVID-19 changes. This includes social distancing in the office, limiting any unnecessary customer visits, new services, and self-screening employees. We have provided training, PPE, and developed new techniques to disinfect to support our local companies during this time.
What will Cleantec be cleaning and what chemicals will be used?
Cleantec uses a multi-surface disinfectant following the normal scope of work set before the COVID-19 pandemic. This typically includes disinfecting bathrooms and wiping doorknobs and light switches weekly. If you are looking for additional or more in-depth disinfecting of all touch points and surfaces with an EPA certified disinfectant, we are happy to provide sanitizing services at an additional cost.
What training has their staff been given?
All employees have completed a company-wide COVID-19 safety training that provides our employees with the knowledge and understanding of how-to self-screen from home and tips for prevention. Additionally, we have trained our staff on the correct way to use COVID-19 EPA certified disinfectants when provided. Cleantec has created several Deep Cleaning & Disinfecting teams that have been provided with additional training related to a positive case.
What PPE is Cleantec providing its staff?
We have provided masks and gloves to all employees that interact with the public during their shift. Cleantec supports our customers’ internal policies to keep their business safe. So if your team requires screening for their employees before entering the building our teams will follow those guidelines at the customer’s expense.
Our COVID-19 positive case response teams have significantly more PPE while completing COVID-19 Deep Disinfecting. For more information on this process, please click here: “Cleantec Procedures – Deep Clean & Disinfecting”
What is the notification process if a crew member is exposed or becomes sick?
When Cleantec is alerted by the Onondaga Health Department that a Cleantec employee has tested positive for COVID-19, we will reach out to the customer directly and relay the following information:
-
Dates/times employee was showing symptoms
-
Confirm Health Department directives for other Cleantec employees and the customer site
-
Refer all other questions to Onondaga Health Department at 315-453-3238 or 315-463-321
Cleantec will closely follow all recommendations and directives given by the CDC or the Onondaga Health Department related to the exposure and work to develop a safety plan.
What is Cleantec doing to prevent virus transmission in our office?
Cleantec monitors the daily updates and recommendations given by the CDC and Health Department to provide the best service while staying safe. Our employees and supervisors have been given the directive that if they feel sick or know someone who is sick, stay home. We are supporting our employees, so they feel comfortable doing so. We will always follow any guidelines set by our customers including wearing masks, practicing good hygiene, self-screening and social distancing while working.
What POST-COVID services does Cleantec provide?
Cleantec is following “Interim Recommendations for US Community Facilities with Suspected/Confirmed Coronavirus Disease 2019”. These guidelines are focused on community, non-healthcare facilities (e.g., schools, institutions of higher education, offices, daycare centers, businesses, community centers) that do and do not house persons overnight.
As such, Cleantec offers a service to apply and wipe an appropriate EPA registered disinfectant, following the application directions provided by the master label, and approved cleaning and disinfecting solution for any areas where the person(s) with a “suspected or confirmed” COVID-19 has visited.
